Stat of the Day: Barbora Krejcikova completes full set of Top 10 wins with victory over Pegula
The only one missing in her set was No. 3, and she got it against Jessica Pegula in the semifinals of Dubai.
With her 6-1, 5-7, 6-0 victory over Jessica Pegula in the semifinals of Dubai on Friday night, Barbora Krejcikova not only got the milestone 10th Top 10 win of her career, she also achieved a unique feat.
The Czech’s win over the No. 3-ranked American means she now has—coincidentally—exactly one win over every rank in the Top 10.

She came into Dubai this year with three pieces missing—No. 2, No. 3 and No. 8—and she’s found them all with her wins over No. 8 Kasatkina, No. 2 Sabalenka and No. 3 Pegula en route to the final.
Awaiting the 2021 Roland Garros champion in the final of the WTA 1000 event will be No. 1-ranked Iga Swiatek, who defeated Coco Gauff in the first semifinal of the day, 6-4, 6-2, improving to 6-0 in her career in WTA 1000 semifinals with the victory.
Swiatek is 2-1 in her head-to-head series against Krejcikova, winning their first two meetings at Miami and Rome in 2021, but falling to the Czech in the final of Ostrava last year.
