Stat of the Day: Resurgent Diego Schwartzman records milestone 250th win of career in Tokyo
He’s the 10th Argentinian man in the Open Era to hit 250.
After a difficult last 12 months that has seen him drop from inside the Top 20 to outside the Top 100, former world No. 8 Diego Schwartzman has been showing big signs of a return to form.
After going 16 months without beating a Top 30 player, he’s taken out three of them in the last two weeks, defeating No. 30 Jiri Lehecka and No. 8 Taylor Fritz en route to the fourth round in Shanghai last week, and—today—defeating No. 22 Francisco Cerundolo in straight sets his opening match in Tokyo.
Schwartzman’s 6-4, 6-1 victory over Cerundolo on Tuesday also took him to a big milestone: it was the 250th win of his career.
He’s the 10th Argentinian man in the Open Era to hit that number.
