Stat of the Day: Fabio Fognini records 400th win of career in Hamburg

The former No. 9 is the first Italian man to reach that milestone in the Open Era, and the 14th active men’s player to do it.

Fabio Fognini recorded the 400th win of his career in Hamburg on Tuesday with a 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 (5) victory over Slovenia’s Aljaz Bedene in the first round of the ATP 500 clay-court event.

The 35-year-old, whose career highlights include reaching the quarterfinals of Roland Garros in 2011, winning the Masters 1000 event in Monte Carlo in 2019 and reaching a career-high ranking of No. 9, is now the 14th active men’s player—as well as the first Italian man in the Open Era—to record 400 tour-level wins in his career.
