Stat of the Day: Novak Djokovic is the first man to win two different Grand Slam tournaments seven times each
The Serb now has nine Australian Opens and seven Wimbledons, to go with three US Open and two Roland Garros titles.
Novak Djokovic achieved a lot with his 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, 7-6 (3) victory over Nick Kyrgios in today's Wimbledon final.
It was Djokovic's seventh Wimbledon title, which ties him with William Renshaw and Pete Sampras for the second most in men's tennis history, trailing only Roger Federer’s eight.
It was also his 21st Grand Slam singles title, breaking a tie with Federer and putting him at standalone second place for most career majors, trailing only 22-time major champion Rafael Nadal.
But there’s one record he owns all on his own now: Djokovic is now the first man in tennis history to win two different Grand Slams seven (or more) times each.

The only other man who comes close to winning seven titles at two separate majors is Federer, who currently has eight career Wimbledon titles and six career Australian Open titles (no other man is within one of this stat).
