They may still rule the majors, winning 17 of the last 18, but the Big 3’s domination of the ATP rankings seems to be easing up a little bit, as a collective anyway.

This is the first week in more than four years that only one of the Big 3 of Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer is in the Top 3 of the ATP rankings.

AUGUST 9, 2021 ATP RANKINGS

2. Daniil Medvedev
3. Stefanos Tsitsipas (+1)

4. Rafael Nadal (-1)
5. Alexander Zverev

The last time there was only one of the Big 3 in the Top 3 was the 2017 Wimbledon fortnight, when Nadal was the only one in there:

Federer rose to No. 3 on July 17, 2017 after winning Wimbledon, and from that week at least two of Federer, Nadal and Djokovic were in the Top 3 at any one time, until now.
