Strycova makes history at Wimbledon

Barbora Strycova made history on Wendesday after ousting British hopeful Johanna Konta in the quarterfinal. At 33-years-old, she is officially the oldest first time Grand Slam women's semifinalist in the Open era, usurping a 32-year-old Roberta Vinci who reached the US Open semifinals in 2015.

The fun loving Czech, who recently contemplated retirement, is enjoying her historic run.

When asked about her possible retirement, Strycova responded with a smile, “I said I might [retire], I didn’t say I will.”

Strycova will look to continue her magical week at Wimbledon when she takes on seven-time champion Serena Williams on Thursday. On Friday, she and Hsieh Su-Wei will face off against top seeds Timea Babos and Kiki Mladenovic.
