Suicide Alert

It looks like the Tribe has accounted for 96 entries in the TAT suicide pool (50 contestants in the men's division, 46 in the women's). Ptenisnet will post periodic updates as the tournament rolls along, but for now mind this important note I just got from TAT's Fabulous Mariya: Even if your Day 1 pick did not play you MUST make a Day 2 pick.

I had some editing chores here and will try to post later on in the evening; tomorrow I'm off to L.A. but I will be posting from there before I leave for Wimbledon on Sunday, July 1.

Although I've heard that 2007 is the Year of Carlos, usually with exclamation points added, I confess that I was hoping Tim Henman might make a statement at what probably is his last Wimbledon tournament. In a perverse way, I've both enjoyed and marveled at the orgies of self-bashing the Brits indulge in when it comes to their own players at Wimbledon, although it's a pity that the general masochism also turns to sadism when it comes to the players. You can get a pretty good taste of it here, and check out the comments at that 606 forum cited at the top of the page.

Gee, why is it that a post on the topic of suicide turns into a reflection on the state of British tennis. I'm tempted to post a picture of Henman, but I have a funny feeling Rosangel might have the same thing in mind for tomorrow morning's Crisis Center post. . .
