The Break: The GOAT debate returns
A lot has happened in the first week of the Australian Open and The Break is back to catch you up on anything you might have missed.
1
GOAT Debate
After Tom Brady won his seventh Super Bowl on Sunday, the GOAT debate was revisited. Serena Williams with 23 majors is hard to beat, as explained by this tweet that nearly broke the internet:
2
Krygios vs. Djokovic
Even though Nick Kyrgios and Novak Djokovic can’t meet until the Australian Open semifinals, that hasn’t stopped them from going to battle. There’s an obvious lack of respect between them that has no chance at a near-future resolution.

Osaka Sounds Off
Naomi Osaka has become one of the strongest voices in the tennis world, and beyond, when it comes to social justice and human rights. On media day, she was asked about Tokyo Olympics Chief Justice Yoshiro Mori comments about women.
He had said, "Women have a strong sense of rivalry, if one raises her hand to speak all the others feel the need to speak, too. I heard somebody say that if we are to increase the number of female board members, we have to regulate speaking time to some extent or else we'll never be able to finish."
Osaka was respectful, but firm, in her response:
"I think that someone that makes comments like that, they need to have more knowledge on the thing that they're talking about," she said. "I feel like that was a really ignorant statement to make."
Osaka, Kyrgios, Djokovic and Serena are all still alive in the Australian Open.
