MELBOURNE — Caroline Wozniacki nearly had to book a flight home last week. She faced an uphill battle down 1-5 to Jana Fett in the second round, but survived.

“All of a sudden seeing myself down, almost out of the tournament, I started playing better and started really playing the tennis that I wanted to play,” Wozniacki said.

Since then, the No. 2 seed has stormed into the quarterfinals, where she'll face a stiff challenge in Carla Suarez Navarro. Wozniacki leads their head-to-head 5-2.
