The Deuce Club, 2.21

By Heidi Kim, TW Contributing Writer

Greetings, Tribe!  Today we continue our Deuce Club tour around the world through our members' wonderful photos.  Manolo sent in this photo of Santa Clara, Cuba, so we could all get a look at "one of the most beautiful countries in the world."   Santa Clara is almost in the center of the country and is famous for being the site of the last major battle in the revolution against Batista in the '50s.  Che Guevara is buried there.  Cuba is undergoing some interesting political changes, so perhaps sometime soon, ordinary Americans will be able to get over there without doing visa gymnastics and see it for ourselves.  Of course, I also hope that Cuba will be able to develop further economically in directions other than tourism, and avoid the fate of so much of the Caribbean.

You'll have to inquire of Manolo below what exactly this building is, as I'm not sure.  Remember, this post is your dedicated thread for off-topic chatter, so start planning your next vacation here!

In another timely news photo, we have niche's pic of Sampras serving to Federer at the thrilla in Malaysia last fall.  With all the chatter about Sampras' exo victories, including Steve Tignor's post over at ESPN, it's an opportune moment to admire this man's great serve (and volley).  We usually leave the tennis pics to the rest of Pete's blog, but I thought this would be a good thread for Sampras talk; there's plenty of tournament play to fill up the daily watercoolers.

As always, keep supplying the photos!  I like this world tour that we're on, but as always, any photos you'd like to share with the Tribe are welcome.
