The round-robin groups are set for the WTA Finals in Shenzhen. On Friday, the tour's Top 8, led by world No. 1 Ashleigh Barty and world No. 2 Karolina Pliskova, were split into two groups.

The Red Group's round-robin matches kick off on Sunday. Osaka will face Kvitova, followed by Barty against Bencic. On Monday, Pliskova will face Svitolina, while Andreescu meets Halep.

The 19-year-old Andreescu, who captured her maiden Grand Slam title in New York in September, and 22-year-old Bencic, are making their debuts at the season-ending championships.

Each player will contest three matches, with two contestants per group appearing in the event’s semifinals.

Eighth-ranked Svitolina is the defending champion.
