The Social Net: Maradona honored; Kyrgios nails Tiafoe

In a world where it didn't really happen if it didn't make social media, fans have more access than ever to elements of their favorite players' lives. Here's what went on this week on The Social Net*:*

1

Farewell To an Icon

The sports world saw the passing of soccer legend Diego Maradona on Wednesday, and the loss deeply affected many in the tennis community, including Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray and Diego Schwartzman, who all made tribute posts online:

Clean Contact

Caroline Wozniacki picks up quickly on just about any athletic pursuit she tries out, and golf seems to be no exception. Like Nadal, she apparently plays golf with the opposite hand of her tennis game, with the lefty swing similar to her two-handed backhand.

*I'm bleeping sorry*

There's never a good time to be in the way of a Nick Kyrgios forehand, but it's especially scary when he's aiming right at you. Frances Tiafoe found this out the hard way in a video posted by Kyrgios.

That's it for this edition of The Social Net, stay tuned for more to come next week.
