The Watercooler, 10.23

'Morning. Or indeed, afternoon if you happen to be in Europe. This is today's thread for (mostly) tennis-related chat, and the last Deuce Club is still open for Deep OTs. I'll be watching some action from Basel, myself.

I really have to plead innocence in the matter of the photo selection for Andrew's current post below this one, The Eilte, Part 1. I don't suppose anyone will believe that Andrew was given a choice of several pictures along his chosen theme, but that's how it was, your honour. Whatever could have given anyone commenting the idea that my involvement would automatically ensure that any photo of Borg would be hott enough to cause Tari to swoon?

However, all this  gave me an idea for a picture for today's post, which someone actually requested a few days back, in relation to Miguel Seabra's post, Sigh Borg, Part 1. He described it as "the most celebrated picture of a tennis player commemorating a tournament victory in the history of the sport". It's Borg kneeling after his five-set win over McEnroe in the epic five-set Wimbledon final of 1980. I sincerely hope that Tari is recovered enough from her earlier swoon to take this one.

So, if there are any other "iconic" tennis moments that anyone would like me to try and find a picture of over the next few days that might brighten up these "Watercooler" posts, feel free to make suggestions. I can't promise that the pictures will be available, but I'm willing to have a look for them, and post them if there's a suitable moment to do so.
