Thiem trains in Tenerife with Sousa, Rublev and more
Dominic Thiem is spending his offseason training with Joao Sousa, Andrey Rublev and more in Tenerife. The world No. 5 has been hard at work preparing for the new year with a training block in the Canary Islands of Spain.
It appears as if Thiem and many of the Austrian players have been enjoying their time under the Tenerife sun, working on their tennis games, fitness and a little bit of soccer.
Thiem and his brother Moritz, a fellow pro player, have been joined by countrymen Dennis Novak and Sebastian Ofner as well as Croatian Mate Delic.
Thiem will look to start 2018 off on the right note after a tough end to his 2017 season. The Austrian struggled after losing a heartbreaker to Juan Martin del Potro. The 24-year-old went 3-6 in ATP play during the fall season, with five of those losses coming to players ranked outside the Top 30.
He will begin the new year at an exhibition event in Abu Dhabi before starting his ATP season in Brisbane.
