Three to See, Australian Open Day 4: Jabeur vs. Andreeva, Thompson vs. Tsitsipas, Eubanks vs. Rublev
Before each day’s play, we’ll preview three must-see matches.
Ons Jabeur vs. Mirra Andreeva
Many are pulling for Jabeur to win a Grand Slam, but at the Australian Open there are other players on everyone’s watchlist, including 16-year-old Andreeva, who’s been shaking up the tennis world since her pro tour debut in 2022.
Last year especially, Andreeva’s popularity soared during Wimbledon as she won three matches in qualifying and three in the main draw, taking a page out of the "Rafa Mentality".
Kicking off the first day of the Round of 64 on Rod Laver Arena, this matchup is expected to go deep into a third set, with a roaring crowd at the ready to support both sides.
Jordan Thompson vs. Stefanos Tsitsipas
Newly minted Top 10er Alex de Minaur is the Aussie making the most noise Down Under, but Thompson is making his own splash. Ranked in the Top 50, he started his year taking out beloved Spaniard Rafael Nadal in Brisbane. What better way to head into a Slam than to have this confidence boost leading the way?
With a great Greek camaraderie in Melbourne, Tsitsipas has a lot of support himseld. His deep runs in Slams past is all the confidence he needs to know he can have a great showing Down Under, and it’s tough opponents like Thompson that best prepare him for difficult battles down the road.

Chris Eubanks vs. Andrey Rublev
Coming in hot as the last match in John Cain Arena, Eubanks and Rublev are expected to perform brilliantly. Aussie Open viewers around the world will happily sacrifice some sleep to watch this showdown.
Eubanks’ return to tennis has been nothing short of brilliant, improbably reaching the Wimbledon quarterfinals. Rublev, on the other hand, has plenty of experience making it into the second week of Slam—though never beyond the quarterfinal stage. Will Eubanks be able to level up his game to the big time?
Both players' off-court selves are just as lively as their on-court abilities, so this will be a compelling clash in every way.
