Throwback Thursday: Venus wins teddy bear at Stanford

The now 37-year-old has won two Bank of the West titles.

You're never really too old for a huge stuffed animal. In this throwback photo, Venus Williams proudly carried one such gift after winning the Stanford crown in 2002. It was her second victory at the Bank of the West Classic, having won the Stanford crown in 2000.

Last year, she returned to the final (her eighth one at Stanford) at the age of 36, but fell to Johanna Konta.

She didn't play in Stanford this year, with Garbine Muguruza and Petra Kvitova leading the field.
