Tommy Paul stuns Andrey Rublev, earns biggest career win
The American remained calm and collected as he used his incredible speed to befuddle the world No. 5.
Tommy Paul scored the biggest win of his career on Monday night, defeating world No. 5 Andrey Rublev 6-4, 3-6, 7-5. The American appeared confident and calm throughout the entire match, using his incredible speed to frustrate Rublev, who simply could not hit through the court in the cold and windy conditions.
Paul is seriously loving the extremely slow Indian Wells courts. Prior to his upset, he defeated Feliciano Lopez and Dusan Lajovic without dropping a set. Paul will take on his good friend Cameron Norrie for a spot in the quarterfinal.
