In Sydney, Diego Schwartzman is lifted by teammate Guido Pella after both won their singles matches against Team Croatia to clinch Group E for Argentina, advancing their country to the quarterfinals. Pella first defeated Marin Cilic 7-6 (1), 6-3, before Schwartzman rolled over Borna Coric, 6-2, 6-2.

Madison Keys had reason to be pleased after defeating Australian Samantha Stosur, 7-5, 6-3, to move into the last eight in Brisbane. The American's first victory in four meetings with the 2011 US Open champion set up a clash with red-hot Danielle Collins, who has dropped just three games in emphatic wins over Elina Svitolina and Yulia Putintseva.
