There were upsets on upsets on Friday at the Vienna Open as four players earned places in the semifinals of the ATP 500.

These are the Top 5 photos:

Lorenzo Sonego

It was quite an impressive day at the office for the 25-year-old Italian. In just 70 minutes, he dispatched 17-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic, 6-2, 6-1. The world No. 42 is through to the last four in Vienna as a lucky loser.

Dan Evans

Evans battled to take out Grigor Dimitrov, 7-6 (3) 4-6, 6-3 to set up a semifinal clash with Sonego. The Brit is into his second straight semifinal after also doing well in Antwerp. He's turned around a rough restart to his 2020 season after losing in the first round of Rome, Hamburg and Roland Garros.

Andrey Rublev

In Rublev's last 18 matches, he has lost only one match. The world No. 8 won the title in Hamburg and earlier this month, he claimed the St. Petersburg trophy on his home turf. On Friday, the Russian took out Vienna's No. 2 seed Dominic Thiem, 7-6 (5), 6-2.

Dominic Thiem

Although the Austrian was upset by the 23-year-old Russian, Thiem has made the most of this bizarre 2020 season. After falling short in three major finals, he captured his first Grand Slam last month in New York by edging past Alexander Zverev. Thiem will be making his fifth appearance at the Nitto ATP Finals next month.

Kevin Anderson

It's been a big week for the South African as he served up nine aces on the way to posting a 6-4, 7-6 (5) score against Vienna's No. 4 seed Daniil Medvedev. Going into Vienna, Anderson had not reached a single quarterfinal during the limited 2020 season. Anderson will face the red-hot Rublev for a spot in the final.
