Top 5 Photos, 11/4: Nadal reaches milestone in Paris
History was made on the courts in Paris, while others kept their dreams of qualifying for the ATP Finals in London alive.
These are the Top 5 photos from Wednesday.
1
Rafael Nadal
The Spaniard might have lost the opening set, but it's never over until it's over, especially when the 20-time major champion is on the court. Nadal fought back to defeat countryman Feliciano Lopez, 4-6, 7-6 (5), 6-4, in his opening match at the ATP Masters 1000 event. Nadal is officially the fourth player to reach the 1,000 match wins mark, following Jimmy Conners, Roger Federer and Ivan Lendl.

2
Daniil Medvedev
Paris' No. 3 seed found himself in a first-set tiebreaker against Kevin Anderson. However, Medvedev would take the match after Anderson was forced to retire due to injury. The South African was up, 5-2, in the tiebreaker, but his thigh pain was too much to play through. Medvedev will face Australia’s Alex de Minaur next.

3
Milos Raonic
The 29-year-old's dreams of securing the last spot for London's ATP Finals are still alive and well in Paris. Raonic handed Pierre-Hugues Herbert a 6-4, 6-4 loss to reach the last 16 at the ATP Masters 1000, and will next face American qualifier Marcos Giron. The world No. 17 would need to lift the Paris title and see Diego Schwartzman fall before the semifinals to have a shot at London.

4
Alexander Zverev
Putting his off-court troubles to the side, the German is solely focusing on his game and it continues to produce good results. Zverev picked up his ninth consecutive win by dismissing Miomir Kecmanovic, 6-2, 6-2, in just 55 minutes.

5
Diego Schwartzman
Schwartzman easily got past Frenchman Richard Gasquet, 7-5, 6-3, and will battle Alejandro Davidovich for a quarterfinal spot in Paris on Thursday. The Argentinian is now just two matches away from qualifying for the ATP Finals.
