Sofia Kenin became the youngest Australian Open winner since 2008 by beating Garbine Muguruza, 4-6, 6-2, 6-2 to win the crown. "I'm so proud of myself, my dad, my team, everyone that has been around me. We've worked all hard. We've been through tough times," she said. "We did it. We fought. I'm just like on cloud nine."

The 21-year-old celebrated appropriately with champagne after her win. She'll rise to world No. 7, marking her first time inside of the Top 10. She's also now the high-ranked American, male or female. Muguruza was seeking her third career Grand Slam crown, having won the French Open and Wimbledon.

The mixed doubles title went to Barbora Krejcikova and Nikola Mektic with a deciding tiebreaker. The duo topped Bethanie Mattek-Sands and Jamie Murray, 5-7, 6-4, 10-1.

Andorra's Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva won the junior Australian Open title with a 5-7, 6-2, 6-2 win over Poland's Weronika Baszak. Kasintseva was seeded No. 9 while her opponent was unseeded.

The junior boy's singles title went to top seed Harold Mayot. The Frenchman dismissed his compatriot Arthur Cazaux, 6-4, 6-1. Just 17, Mayot already has a pro ranking of No. 527.
