For the second straight week, Gael Monfils emerged victorious in the championship match over a Canadian, this time defeating 19-year-old Felix Auger-Aliassime, 6-2, 6-4, to retain the title in Rotterdam. Monfils claimed the Montpellier crown last week over Vasek Pospisil.

Kiki Bertens also successfully defended a title, racing to the finish line in St. Petersburg against Russian-born Kazakh Elena Rybakina, 6-1, 6-3. The Dutchwoman, who has now won 10 career WTA singles titles, has pulled out of next week's Dubai event.

In Hua Hin, Thailand, Magda Linette took out qualifier Leonie Kung, 6-3, 6-2, to claim her second career title. The 28-year-old lifted her maiden trophy in the 2019 Bronx Open.

Kim Clijsters shared a practice session with reigning Wimbledon winner Simona Halep in Dubai. The four-time major champion, 36, will officially launch her second comeback Monday. With Bertens withdrawing, Clijsters will now face last month's Australian Open finalist Garbine Muguruza, who moved into the seeded slot at No. 9.

Casper Ruud made history in Buenos Aires, becoming the first Norwegian to capture an ATP crown. The 21-year-old dismissed lucky loser Pedro Sousa, 6-1, 6-4, and is projected to rise 11 spots to a career-high No. 34 as a result of his title run.
