Top 5 Photos 3/25: Wildcard Konjuh upsets Keys in Miami

With temperatures in the 80s and that grueling Florida humidity, things were certainly toasty on Day 2 of the Miami Open. Upsets ensued but while the women's top seed had one foot out the door, she somehow managed to survive.

Ana Konjuh

The Miami wildcard is making some serious noise. On Wednesday, she claimed her first tour-level main-draw match since 2018 and after four elbow surgeries. Konjuh followed that up by defeating 2017 US Open finalist and No. 18 seed Madison Keys, 6-4, 6-2. She is through to the third round, where she will face last year's Roland Garros champion Iga Swiatek.

Thanasi Kokkinaki

That's three victories in a row in Miami for the Aussie, who first battled through qualifying. Kokkinakis moved past Japan's Shintaro Mochizuki with a convincing 6-3, 6-3 scoreline. He will take on No. 29 seed Marton Fucsovics next.

Ashleigh Barty

Was that Barty or Houdini? It was hard to tell as the Aussie made a tremendous escape against qualifier Kristina Kucova, 6-3, 4-6, 7-5, after trailing, 2-5, in the deciding set. The world No. 1 saved a match point and ultimately won the last five games to end the rollercoaster bout.

Johanna Konta

After taking two consecutive first-round losses, the Brit edged past Magda Linette in Miami, 6-4, 7-5. Konta won the 1000-level event back in 2017 by defeating Caroline Wozniacki in straight sets in the final.

Marin Cilic

Without Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Andy Murray and Dominic Thiem in the draw, the Croat is the only major champion in the men's draw. He claimed his Miami opener against Argentine Federico Coria, 6-3, 2-6, 6-4, to stay alive at the Masters 1000. He will next face Cristian Garin.
