The number of matches may dwindle, but the action continues to heat up in Miami. More players saw their fortnights come to an end, while others inched closer to capturing the 1000-level title.

Roberto Bautista Agut

The Spaniard was rock solid in his 6-4, 6-2 victory over world No. 2 and top seed Daniil Medvedev. He was willing to stick through long rallies and make a lot of balls, all of which frustrated the Russian to no end. The world No. 12's quarterfinal win boosts his head-to-head record against Medvedev to a perfect 3-0. He's into his second career Masters 1000 semifinal.

Bianca Andreescu

With a down-the-line backhand winner, it was settled. The Canadian is into the last four for the second time this season. Despite not holding serve for a set she scored a 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 win over Sara Sorribes Tormo.

Jannik Sinner

There was no panic, just pure focus in the eyes of the Italian as he moved past Alexander Bublik, 7-6 (5), 6-4, to reach his first Masters 1000 semifinal. The teenager has made the quarterfinals or better in four of six tournaments this season. It's safe to say he's a player that's gone under the radar; now, all eyes are on him.

Iga Swiatek and Bethanie Mattek Sands

The American and Polish duo kept pushing against Ukrainian Lyudmyla Kichenok and Latvia's Jelena Ostapenko. After claiming the first set with ease, Swiatek and Mattek-Sands went down 1-4, before winning five straight games to claim the match, 6-1, 6-4. The two will take on No. 5 seeds Shuko Aoyama and Ena Shibahara for a spot in the finals.

Dan Evans and Neal Skupski

The intensity was at an all-time high as the British pair fought to stay alive, erasing a match point against Marcelo Arevalo and Horia Tecau to prevail, 7-6(6) 3-6, 11-9. They will next face Ivan Dodig and Filip Polasek in Miami's semifinal on Thursday.
