Dan Evans
Bet you didn't see that coming. In their first-ever encounter, Evans took down world No. 1 Novak Djokovic, 6-4, 7-5, to move into Monte Carlo's last eight. It also marks his first career win over a world No. 1.

2
Andrey Rublev
The Russian managed to come out on top in what may have been the grittiest match of the young clay-court season. Rublev edged past Roberto Bautista Agut, 7-6(2), 5-7, 6-3, and is through to his first quarterfinal showing in Monaco.

Rafael Nadal
“I was doing the right things, but it is true that today was more his fault than my good tennis.”
Well the Spaniard may have had a dominant showing against Grigor Dimitrov, but he sure didn't take all the credit for his seamless 6-1, 6-1 score. Nadal is into his 16th consecutive last eight appearance in Monte Carlo.

Fabio Fognini
The Italian had another solid day at the office by defeating Filip Krajinovic 6-2, 7-6 (1) on the red dirt. He will next face Casper Ruud, who is also enjoying his time in Monte Carlo for a spot in the last four.

5
Alexander Zverev
The same can't be said for the German, who took a surprising loss to David Goffin, 6-4, 7-6(7). This comes directly off an unfortunate opening loss at this month's Miami Open. The upset gives Goffin his first quarterfinal showing at the Masters 1000 event since 2018.
