Casper Ruud

The 22-year-old Norwegian is proving to be a formidable foe on the red dirt. Ruud earned his first Top 5 win against fourth-seeded Stefanos Tsitsipas, 7-6 (4), 6-4, reaching his third consecutive quarterfinal at a clay-court Masters 1000 event. He next meets Alexander Bublik, who rallied to beat red-hot Aslan Karatsev, 2-6, 6-4, 6-1, for a spot in the semifinals.

Aryna Sabalenka

The Belarusian is taking no prisoners this week. With her 6-3, 6-3 win over Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, Sabalenka earned a chance to avenge her Stuttgart final loss to Ashleigh Barty, who cruised past wild card Paula Badosa, 6-4, 6-3.

Rafael Nadal

The tournament favorite had no trouble against Alexei Popyrin, 6-3, 6-3. He will play Alexander Zverev, who fended off Daniel Evans, 6-3, 7-6 (3), for a spot in the semifinals. Nadal is looking for his 62nd title on clay—he already holds the Open Era record on the surface.

Cristian Garin

The 24-year-old Chilean is through to his second straight quarterfinal after upsetting No. 2 seed Daniil Medvedev, 6-4, 6-7 (2), 6-1. Up next is eighth-seeded Matteo Berrettini, who battled past Federico Delbonis, 7-6 (4), 6-4.
