The start of quarterfinal action headlined Tuesday at Roland Garros. Here are five moments that stood out from the rest on Day 10 in Paris.

1. In an otherwise pressure-packed match, Swiss champions Stan Wawrinka and Roger Federer shared a fun moment with the tournament supervisor before play was suspended due to precautionary weather concerns.

2. The weather gods interrupted both men’s quarterfinal matches in their latter stages. Luckily for fans, the delay lasted no more than an hour.

3. After playing back-to-back five-set matches ahead of his quarterfinal meeting with 11-time champion Rafael Nadal, Kei Nishikori ran out of steam. The Japanese showed signs of fatigue, requiring treatment on his right elbow in the 6-1, 6-1, 6-3 defeat to Nadal.

4. Johanna Konta was all smiles after her flawless 6-1, 6-4 victory over Sloane Stephens. Konta is the first British woman to make the French Open semifinals since 1983.

5. Wawrinka had a clean look at a forehand passing shot down break point in the 3rd set against Federer. He sailed it wide and fell to the dirt in anguish. Wawrinka lost the set, and the match, 7-6 (4), 4-6, 7-6 (5), 6-4.
