Top 5 Photos, 9/29: Tsitsipas survives first-round scare

There were a handful of matches that went the distance, some captured their first Roland Garros wins while top names managed to escape first-round upsets.

These are the Top 5 Photos from Day 3 in Paris.

Stefanos Tsitsipas

Dawning his dripping black Adidas Venom outfit, the world No. 7 might have been down but he certainly wasn't out. Tsitsipas would fight back from two sets behind for the first time in his career to defeat Jaume Munar, 4-6, 2-6, 6-1, 6-4, 6-4.

Kristina Mladenovic

Mladenovic suffered a disappointing first-round loss against Laura Siegemund. The Frenchwoman raced off to a 5-1 lead, before allowing her frustration over Siegemund's un-called double bounce to upset her mentally. Although Mladenovic held six set points, she would fall, 7-5, 6-3.

Andrey Rublev

The Russian recovered from two sets down to beat American Sam Querrey, 6-7 (5), 6-7 (4), 7-5, 6-4, 6-3.

"I was feeling completely tight," Rublev said of the first two sets. "I choke another level."

Like Tsitsipas, the victory marks Rublev's first comeback from two sets down. The world No. 12 will battle Alejandro Davidovich Fokina for a spot in the third round.
