There were some bumps in the road for a couple of top names, but most seeded players moved along into week two of the US Open.

Serena Williams

The 23-time Grand Slam champion got off to a shaky start, but she didn't let it derail her. Serena rallied her way back to victory, posting a 2-6, 6-2, 6-2 score over countrywoman Sloane Stephens.

"It was intense, I have to say," Serena said during her on-court interview. "We always have some really incredible matches. It brings out the best in my fitness when I play Sloane."

Alexis Ohanian and Baby Olympia

Serena's three-year-old daughter was busy playing with toys for most of her mom's match. But once, Serena won, Olympia excitedly joined her father and mother in celebrating Serena's third-round victory.

The No. 6 seed meant business in his third-round match against Casper Ruud. Berrettini fired off 40 winners in his seamless 6-4 6-4 6-2 win to advance into the US Open's second week.

Frances Tiafoe

The 22-year-old American is into the round of 16 in New York for the first time in his career after dismissing Marton Fucsovics, 6-2, 6-3, 6-2. The world No. 82 will face a very tough opponent in last year's finalist Daniil Medvedev for a spot in the final eight.

Maria Sakkari

The No. 15 seed quickly posted a 6-3, 6-1 win against American teen Amanda Anisimova. The Greek is set to face Serena for a spot in the quarterfinals. Last week, the 25-year-old pulled out a three-set win against the 38-year-old at the Western and Southern Open.
