The lead up to Wimbledon continued on Monday in Eastbourne. Some competitors are just starting their grass-court campaigns, while others are pressing for more match play ahead of the London major. These are the Top 5 photos from around the grounds.

1. Ashleigh Barty ascended to the top of the rankings after capturing the Birmingham title on Sunday, and on Monday, received the Chris Evert WTA World No. 1 trophy in Eastbourne. Barty is the first Australian female to reach No. 1 since Evonne Goolagong Cawley in 1976. The 23-year-old was set to compete this week but withdrew due to a right arm injury.

2. Fernando Verdasco squared off against John Millman in his opening round. Although the Spaniard lost a close first set, he was able to rally past Millman, 6-7 (3), 6-4, 6-1. After his first-round loss to Daniil Medvedev at Queen's Club, Verdasco is seeking additional reps on the green turf.

3. Andy Murray is fresh off his dream run with partner Feliciano Lopez. Murray, who underwent right hip resurfacing surgery earlier this year, made a perfect return at Queen's Club, capturing the title alongside Lopez on Sunday against Rajeev Ram and Joe Salisbury. The Scot is feeling great and continued his training program in Eastbourne.

4. Following Murray's practice session, the Scot stopped to sign autographs for a stream of young fans. Murray will take on  No. 1 seeds Juan Sebastian Cabal and Robert Farah alongside new partner Melo Marcelo. Murray defeated the Colombians just last week in the first round at Queen's Club.

5.  Heather Watson and Harriet Dart hit the practice courts in preparation for their doubles debut. The two will attempt to upset the third seeds Nicole Melichar and Kveta Peschke, last year's Wimbledon finalists, in their opening round.
