Update
Mornin'. Ever get that feeling that you're trying to jump on the caboose of a train, but the harder you run, the farther out front it gets?
That's how I feel about the U.S. Open. Day One is always the craziest, as you try to find your sea legs on the enormous heaving vessel, the U.S.(S) Open, as it finally leaves port.
After I posted my last item below (some of the comments on the issue I raised were pretty interesting), Doug Robson (of USA Today) and I had a revealing interview with Sania Mirza, the 18-year-old who's already become the highest ranking Indian woman ever to play on the tour. I'll be posting some thoughts on her later today . . . along with a lot of other stuff.
