Urgent TennisWorld Bulletin
Howdy. I realized when I called the farm in game-rich Andes and heard Cowboy Luke bawling like the baby he is that I had better take better care of my family, despite the mania of the high tennis season. So I am off all of next week, holing up at a beachside cottage on the south shore of Long Island (Lisa loves the beach, while I’m the mountain guy). My “must read” list includes Vince Spadea’s forthcoming Break Point – Steggy says it’s a fun read and L. Jon Wertheim said it’s so good he consumed almost all of it in one sitting.
I’m sorry I still have posted “Man or Metrosexual”, but I have the quiz pretty much worked out, and we’ll get to it, the week that I return.
The good news for the TennisWorld tribe is that I gave Steggy, our Hillbilly Princess, the keys to the TW car and complete authority to orchestrate whatever mayhem she has in mind throughout the next week. And we have a surprise for you: We’ll have new posts up every day (theoretically, anyway) from a variety of guest bloggers, mostly Elders from TW waxing poetic on their favorite players.
And now for some really big, exiciting news. The Tennis magazine business-side bigs have offered me a pair of tickets for the Tennis luxury suite for Wednesday, August 30th, and Thursday, August 31st, both day sessions, which I will give away to a lucky contest winner so you can be my guest at the U.S. Open for those two days. So start checking those discount airfares and “personal days” on your office TimeTracker system.
I’m still working out the details of how we’re going to run this contest, and I should have them up by Monday – giving you plenty of time to make plans. Come back and check them out!
Okay, everyone, have a great week and play nice!
