With the earlier Crisis Center post overflowing with your comments, and slowing down, please move over to this new thread to carry on discussing the ongoing tennis. We''d appreciate your co-operation in keeping the subject focused on tennis until all of the day's matches are over - afterwards, it's OK to wind down and go off-topic if you choose to.

Today so far we have seen Sam Querrey defeat Ivo Karlovic, Rafael Nadal dispatch Viktor Troicki, and Gael Monfils progress over David Nalbandian, all in straight sets. Andy Murray and Stanislas Wawrinka, who will meet in the fourth round, each needed five sets to defeat Jurgen Melzer and Flavio Cipolla respectively.

On the WTA side, Venus and Serena Williams both won in straight sets (over Alona Bondarenko and Ai Sugiyama), so look on track for a potential quarterfinal showdown. Also, Agniezska Radwanska dominated Dominika Cibulkova, 6-0, 6-3, and Amelie Mauresmo defeated Anna Ivanovic's conqueror, Julie Coin, in straight sets.

The night session on Arthur Ashe Stadium includes a women's match between Dinara Safina and Timea Bacsinszky, which is still in its early stages, and an all-American clash between James Blake and Mardy Fish. Currently, there are also matches continuing between Juan Martin Del Potro and Gilles Simon (Del Potro leading by two sets to one ) and Kei Nishikori and David Ferrer (Nishikori up two sets to none).

Enjoy the evening's tennis.
