USO Crisis Center, Day 13

By Rosangel Valenti, TW Contributing Editor

Good morning. Here's today's space for discussing the events at USTABJKNTC as they unfold, whether it's tennis, or rain preventing tennis. As always we'd prefer it if you would stay on-topic - off topic chat is fine after the day's matches are over.

I arrived last night in New York, with the hope of seeing the men's semifinals today. Fairly soon I'll be making my way over to the site, though with considerable trepidation. The day looks grey and overcast, so it's possible that my first-ever day at the US Open will be marred by the weather. Luckily I still have my Roland Garros umbrella in my camera bag. But it remains possible that the second semifinal will be played on Armstrong Stadium, so anyone visiting today will be shortchanged if this happens. With the world's four best players on offer, I have been looking forward to both semifinal matchups. My personal favourite amongst the matches I saw live in 2007, for its shot making and atmosphere, was Rafael Nadal's clash with Andy Murray in Madrid last year - a much tighter match than the two-set scoreline would suggest. It's also difficult to resist the rematch of the Federer-Djokovic semifinal in Melbourne earlier this year.

I'll be checking back into TW later today. As of now, I don't have a ticket for the women's final, so if it's played today, I may end up watching it on TV.

As always, enjoy today's tennis.
