WATCH: Bouchard's soy sauce on pizza gets a thumb's up
The Canadian's tweet catches the attention of Kikkoman.
Some people like to smother their slice of apple pie in melted cheese. Others swear by a pat of butter in their coffee. Eugenie Bouchard? Well…
Yes, the former Wimbledon finalist has added an entry to the ranks of controversial food combinations. The GIFs, memes and tweets in reply were largely of the “no way” variety, with hundreds of people saying that soy sauce and pizza should not be brought together.
However, Bouchard did receive some some major support from none other than one of the world’s leading soy sauce producers, Kikkoman.
The president and CEO of Kikkoman USA Sales took a bite and gave the saucy slice a nod of approval. With that kind of backing, Bouchard surely must feel some sense of justification.
It looks like Bouchard and Kikkoman have found their own love match, despite what the naysayers might say.
