WATCH: Cuevas hits likely contender for Wimbledon top shot

En route to claiming a five-set, first-round victory over Damir Dzumhur, 33-year-old Pablo Cuevas hit what may become the 2019 Wimbledon shot of the tournament.

The rally lasted just seven shots, but the final shot-making was pristine (and helped by a ball-slowing court, to be sure).

What to call that? We'll leave it at tweener-dropper-passing shot. And so be it.

The Uruguayan was suitably thrilled with his output:

Cuevas would drop a four-set encounter against Jiri Vesely, who upset No. 4 seed and perennial major-event under-performer Alexander Zverev in his own opener.

Cuevas left his mark on the grass, and on the season. Expect to see his betwixt-the-legs slapper on scads of year-end best shots rosters.
