The offseason is really short, so training can get intense and exhausting—or at least that's the excuse we're giving world No. 35 Daria Gavrilova for her mishap.

The Russian-turned-Australian was practicing her serve when she smashed herself in the shin in one of the more painful mistakes in tennis. It's a total rookie move, but she proves it can happen to anyone.

The 24-year-old will hope for a good start in front of her new home crowds in Australia after a lackluster 2018 season where she made just two semifinals (both early in the year in Sydney and Acapulco).
