WATCH: Kyrgios drains 11 consecutive jumpers
It’s no secret that Nick Kyrgios would rather be shooting hoops for the Boston Celtics than firing aces on the ATP Tour. He almost exclusively practices in his favorite players and teams NBA jerseys.
But for the most part, the Aussie’s basketball hubris seemed a bit unwarranted. A lot of people have hoop dreams, and even more fancy themselves basketball players, but the general public really didn’t know if Kyrgios could actually play… until now.
Kyrgios counts by threes; his jumper is smooth as silk. Although the exact range can’t be determined from the video, he appears to be hovering somewhere around the college three-point line. Who knows how many takes this clip took, and some doubt it's even him, but you have to admit: it's very impressive.
Hitting 11 consecutive three pointers while wearing a loose hoodie is no small feat. To make matters more difficult, Kyrgios was shooting at a fixed rim, not the more shooter-friendly breakaway rim. Then you factor in the elements, Kyrgios was shooting outdoors, a nightmare for sharpshooters accustomed to a closed gym.
Simply put, Kyrgios has a wet jumper.
