WATCH: Nadal reacts to Federer's message to his academy
The bromance lives on!
On Thursday, the Rafa Nadal Academy celebrated its one-year anniversary. Roger Federer, who attended the opening last year, sent Nadal a special message of congratulations. He mentioned he wanted another invite to Mallorca, and Nadal responded quickly.
Of course, the world No. 1 was grateful for Federer's kind words, and thrilled that his rival could be part of the academy's history. But Nadal couldn't have foreseen that he would lose four critical matches to Federer in 2017, including the Australian Open final.
"The invitation is always open for you..." Nadal said. "The only thing that cannot happen again is after coming here you play that well again. If that going to happen, I don't invite you."
Obviously, it's a good-hearted joke. The two will likely face off again at the ATP Finals in London.
