WATCH: Ramskogler hits rare "around the umpire" shot

You’ve seen plenty of around-the net brilliance on both the ATP and WTA Tours. So much so, the ATP created an ode to this electrifying play:

But have you ever seen a shot go around the umpire’s chair?

Down match point against Tennessee’s Martim Prata and Adam Walton on court No. 3, Mississippi State’s Gregor Ramskogler hit the shot of his life.

Only possible with plenty of room to roam, not only did Ramskogler go around the umpire, he also threaded his Federer-esque running overhead between the bench, and over a racquet bag. It’s the type of shot most players only dream of hitting.

Even the Tennessee coach was impressed.

Tennessee would go on to win the game, and the match, but Ramskogler was the real winner. He’ll probably show his grandkids the shot someday.
