Weekend Crisis Center 10.13

Morning. This thread is for discussing today's matches, and any other tennis-related topics. There are plenty of indoor events going on this weekend, in the run-up to the men's Madrid Masters next week (check out the qualifying draw here) as it progresses, and the women's Year-ending Championships (the Sony Ericsson Championships, beginning in Madrid on November 5th).

In Moscow, as I write, Serena Williams beat Svetlana Kuznetsova a short time ago in their semifinal - she will face Elena Dementieva in the final tomorrow. The photo above was taken today - amazing how quickly it found its way to the agency's site!

Meanwhile, in Bangkok, Flavia Pennetta has defeated Venus Williams in two sets, and the second semifinal (Zi Yan versus Yung-Jan Chan) is currently in progress.

In the men's tournament in Moscow, Nikolay Davydenko plays Janko Tipsarevic, and Paul-Henri Mathieu will meet Michael Berrer in the second semifinal. In Stockholm, Tommy Haas has been defeated in his semifinal against Ivo Karlovic, and James Blake, the defending Champion, is due to face Thomas Johansson in the second semifinal. In Vienna, Novak Djokovic is leading Andreas Seppi in their semifinal, with Stanislas Wawrinka to meet Juan Carlos Ferrero later today.
