With Johanna Konta's withdrawal from Moscow, Caroline Garcia  — winner of the Wuhan-Beijing double  — has sealed up the final spot in the WTA Finals, set to take place in Singapore starting Oct. 22.

But because big successes on the WTA Tour this year have been so spread among the players, the year-end championship will be missing lots of big names and breakout stars.

Here's who won't be competing:

1

2016 Singapore winner Dominika Cibulkova

2

Year-starting No. 1 Angelique Kerber

3

Australian Open champion Serena Williams

4

CoCo Vandeweghe, semifinalist in the US and Australian Opens, and quarterfinalist at Wimbledon

5

Both****Indian Wells finalists, Svetlana Kuznetsova and Elena Vesnina

6

Miami champion and Wimbledon semifinalist Johanna Konta

7

Stanford champion and US Open finalist Madison Keys

8

US Open champion Sloane Stephens

Still, for all the players, except Serena Williams, the WTA Elite Trophy in Zhuhai remains on the table.  Others in position to qualify for it are Kristina Mladenovic, Anastasija Sevastova, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and Ashleigh Barty.

The wildcard will be Peng Shuai.
