Wimbledon Crisis Center, Day 11

Good morning. This is your daily post for discussing all those intriguing matches that are due to take place today in SW19 - with a packed programme on both Centre Court and Number One Court. The Order of Play can be found here. The men's quarterfinals are being played on a day that is meant to be their semifinals day. The women's semifinals are a day behind schedule - and those are being played too, last in the afternoon, which certainly adds a degree of uncertainty for the women waiting in the locker-room, due to go on last after the men's five-setters. This whole period into the weekend is looking like Wimbledon's extended version of the US Open's Super Saturday. The forecast from the BBC says it should be cloudy with "sunny intervals". The dreaded r-word isn't mentioned. Looking out of my window right now, it's a grey day, but with no actual precipitation. So, there is hope that the full day's play may be completed.
Given the stellar nature of what's on offer, I'm in the process of trying to secure a Centre Court ticket for today for me and my cameras (can't turn up to Wimbledon without a backup camera, right? I even needed to use it last time I was there). Whatever happens at this end, here's hoping that we all have an uninterrupted day's viewing
