Wimbledon Crisis Center, Day 13

Good morning. This is your daily post for discussing the action in SW19. The Order of Play for today is here. We all know that Roger Fererer and Rafael Nadal are lined up for yet another finals encounter. This time they will have the mighty Bjorn Borg watching them from the Royal Box as one or other makes history - either tying his five straight Wimbledon titles, or winning Roland Garros and Wimbledon back-to-back (though not as many times as he did). And somehow, despite the wet weather disaster that made up most of the past two weeks, this will take place at its traditional time, 2pm. The day is forecast to be sunny, so there should be no interruptions.

Doubles has received little attention this watery fortnight, but today we in the UK will definitely see at least one doubles final on our screens, the mixed doubles, because it features The Other Murray, Jamie, paired with Jelena Jankovic. Their opponents are still undecided, with the semifinal to be played earlier in the day. How ironic it would be if Jamie Murray could take home a Wimbledon title this year, with his more famous younger sibling out of action this Wimbledon due to his wrist injury (and likely to be out for another two weeks, hoping to return in Washington). And meanwhile, the Bryan brothers will be contesting yet another Slam final.

I promised yesterday to provide the links to some of the pictures taken on Friday, while I was on Centre Court. My photos of Rafa are on this link, and all the other pictures (of Roger Federer, Juan Carlos Ferrero, Ana Ivanovic, Venus Williams, Marion Bartoli and Justine Henin) are here.
