World congratulates Kenin on Australian Open championship
You've surely seen it by now: the video in which a seven-year-old Sofia Kenin says she can beat Andy Roddick by using his same racquet and by neutralizing his serve.
Well Roddick has seen it as well, and before Kenin's Australian Open final, he quote-tweeted it with his support for her:
Of course, Kenin went on to deliver in the championship match, defeating Garbine Muguruza, 4-6, 6-2, 6-2, on Saturday, breaking Muguruza's serve five times. Just like Roddick, Kenin had become a 21-year-old American major champion.
And Roddick, again, got to congratulate Kenin:
But he wasn't the only Grand Slam champion to reach out. So did Kim Clijsters, who in another viral video is seen showing Kenin around Miami's Crandon Park ...
As well as Sloane Stephens ...
Jelena Ostapenko ...
And Bianca Andreescu:
Legends going further back chimed in too:
As did many moreย active players, including ones she'd just beaten:
Also ecstatic were her fans, which she seems to have more and more of each day:
Somewhere, someone is certainly holding a kids' version of Sofia Kenin's racquet, imagining how they mightย hit backย her serve, or out-grind her in a grueling rally.
