Hi all. As promised earlier, here's an overspill post, as live tennis action moves to Oz, with the Hopman Cup starting, and also the combined WTA and ATP tournament in Brisbane.

Congratulations to Andy Murray. The new six-man tournament in Abu Dhabi may only have been an exhibition, but there's never a bad time for beating Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal back-to-back (even if certain British journalists and commentators are overreacting just a bit). The tournament was also played on Plexicushion, so slots in as a suitable warmup for some of the top players before the Australian Open. Oh, and I'm glad to see that the trophy given to the runner-up is just as big as the one the winner is holding - not like that tiny silver tea-tray that goes to the losing finalist at Roland Garros.

Talking of the AO, there are just fifteen days to go before a large contingent of TW's readers end up staying awake all night every night for two whole weeks...
