The early season tournaments continue today, with action from three of the big 4 due at Doha (as I write this Murray is cruising past Montanes), and wins in the book for Davydenko in Chennai plus Tsonga and Gasquet in Brisbane.  On the WTA side, Lucie Safarova has recorded a win in Brisbane.

BTW, catching up with the overnight action I see that the fourth member of the ATP Big 4, Novak Djokovic, was eased out of the Brisbane tournament by a Tribe favorite Ernests Gulbis, 6-4 6-4.  Djokovic thereby misses a potential opportunity to overtake Federer for the no 2 spot before the start of the Australian Open, although this may be part of a cunning plan to avoid Andy Murray.  For those less inclined to conspiracy theories, congratulations to Gulbis fans are in order, so he's pic of the day.  Commiserations, of course, to Djokovic fans.

As always, enjoy today's tennis. We're in live tennis mode now, so please hold your off-topic conversations until after the day's matches are over.
