Hi all. As most of you know, Pete is on holiday until 31st October. The tennis doesn't stop, however. Please treat this as your daily gathering-place for discussing the matches that are going on. You can use this thread to go off-topic too.

Today there are three sets of ATP semifinals taking place - in Lyon, Basel and St Petersburg. Three of the contenders for Shanghai spots - Gilles Simon and Jo-Wilfried-Tsonga in Lyon, and Juan Martin Del Potro in Basel - are in action; Simon and Robin Soderling are currently engaged in their first set. In Luxembourg, Elena Dementieva is currently facing Sorana Cirstea, having taken the first set; later Li Na will play Caroline Wozniacki for the other place in the final. In Linz, Vera Zvonareva has secured her appearance in the final with a straight-sets demolition of Marion Bartoli; Ana Ivanovic and Agniezska Radwanska will contend the other semifinal,
