Hi all. Pete is away this weekend, so again I'm providing the TWibe's Your Call post. There are no live matches to talk about at present, but It's open for any talk about tennis - and off-topic conversations too.

Yesterday I asked for nominations from posters for favourite "Moments of 2008". Several people picked Elena Dementieva's moment in the sun. In August she won the biggest title of her career so far, defeating Dinara Safina in the final at the Beijing Olympics, to take the Gold Medal. In addition to Dinara Safina's Silver Medal, Vera Zvonareva completed a trio of Russian successes by taking the Bronze Medal.

It wasn't Dementieva's first Olympic medal - in 2000 she won the Silver. On that occasion Venus Williams won the Gold, and Monica Seles was the Bronze medallist.
