Your Call, 7.21

Mornin', folks. This will be a quick one, because I want to put up a red-meat post a little later, taking a closer look at Jimmy Connors (as per a few requests yesterday). So let's all celebrate Frank "Tire Boy" Dancevic's win in Indianapolis yesterday, and raise a glass to toast the pride of Niagara Falls - the Maple Leaf side of the border.

As some of you know, Frankie is a hockey fan (the Toronto Maple Leafs, zut alors!), and he like to fish. And this boy gets all syrupy at the sight of that glorious maple leaf - the "big win" mentioned in his bio was a 2003 four-setter against Brazil's Flavio Serretta. That triumph merits citation not because it's the biggest scalp Frankie bagged in his career, but because the W lifted Canada into the Davis World Group for the first time in over a decade. Alas, our pancake-and Tim Horton donut loving northerly neighbors were promptly yanked from the WG stage soon thereafter, but we have to love Frankie's priorities.

Frankie, you'll notice, is looking very Bruce Springsteen these days, even without his preferred sleeveless T in this photo, and you'll forgive me for resisting all the song-title cliches the comparison invites. I was not Born to Pun.

You know what to do - back in a little.
